Patient Testimonials:

Pain Free After 40 Years of Chronic Ankle Pain!
Dr. Viens performed a total ankle replacement on me. After nearly 40 years of chronic pain with my ankle I am now 3 months post-op and virtually pain free. As time goes by I expect to be totally pain free. Dr. Viens is very professional and compassionate. He answers all questions and spends all needed time during appointments. My surgery and recovery has been just as Dr. Viens has said. I would recommend anyone with chronic ankle pain to see Dr. Viens for an evaluation.

Great!
"WOW! My doctor was great: spent time with me I needed, answered questions, good rapport, gave me the medical information I needed and explained next steps in a clear manner. Thanks so much!"

Highly Recommend!
"Dr. Viens has always been extremely professional. He did a phenomenal job and is a good listener. He gives good, sound, realistic advice. I enjoyed working with Dr. Viens and would highly recommend him."

Terrific!
"Dr. Viens was very thorough, answering all of my questions and explaining how I could heal surgically or non-surgically. I couldn't give him high enough marks. Every time I had a question through the portal, I got a quick response. It has just been way beyond anything I would have expected. Triangle Orthopaedics is a great practice and he's a terrific addition."

Great Bedside Manner!
"I am very blessed and thankful that Dr Viens did my foot surgery. He took time to explain things and, at the same time as the old saying goes, "he has a great bedside manner". You don't see that much anymore and especially in a young doctor. My husband was pleased with the way he explained things after the procedure. In short I was scared to death and he was very confident and I could see that. Dr Viens’s nurse, Kellie, was also very caring and sweet. Between 1 and 10, I rate them 15."

Excellent and Caring Surgeon!
"Dr. Viens is not only one of the most knowledgeable and caring doctors I've met, he is also an EXCELLENT surgeon! On November 30th, I missed the last step on a staircase and wound up with a sprain of my tarsometatarsal joint and ligament of my foot. On December 12th, he performed surgery. I was in and out in 5 hours, EVERYTHING went well. During my post op visits - everything he told me to expect was accurate in time and healing. The stitches were very neatly done and removed. (his great assistant, Kellie, removed the stitches. They are an excellent team!) He patiently answered all of my questions, instructed me as what to do and what to expect. Each post-op visit, the result was just as he described and exactly what I expected. I give him 10 Stars, not just because he is an excellent surgeon who does great work, but BECAUSE HE ALSO CARES!!! Thank you Dr. Viens! You're one of the BEST!!!"

TOP NOTCH DOC!
"I initially saw Dr. Nicholas Viens as a second opinion for my ankle injury. Even though he gave me the same diagnosis as the first surgeon, I immediately knew I would continue my care, and have him perform my surgery.
My first impression of Dr. Viens was that he was extremely knowledgeable of my orthopedic diagnosis, and the most up-to-date treatments and surgery procedures. He took the time to make sure I understood what the results of my injury were, and all available options for moving forward.
Dr. Viens performed surgery in September, 2015, to repair my damaged peroneal tendon and ligaments. The results have been beyond my expectations! I am now over 6 months post-surgery, and I no longer have the nagging pain and discomfort I had before surgery. My ankle is healing as expected, and I am regaining strength and resuming normal activities.
I would like to express my gratitude and thanks to Dr. Viens, and the entire staff at Triangle Orthopedics. Dr. Viens has always taken the time to explain all aspects of my care, always making me feel as if I was his only patient for the day. He is a perfectionist with his patients’ care, always wanting and providing the best possible outcome for them. Dr. Viens showed me he is a hands-on doctor, even working with the x-ray tech one day to help take x-rays. Additionally, I have always been examined by him, and not an assistant.
The entire staff, from the ladies at the front check-in, to the medical staff have been very pleasant, professional, and knowledgeable as well. Customer service is a “deal-breaker” for me, and every employee at Triangle Orthopedics, Durham, has provided me with excellence.
I would highly recommend Dr. Viens. He is a wonderful asset to Triangle Orthopedics. He and the staff have provided me with a great patient experience."
