  • Physician Spotlight

    TOA wishes to recognize Dr. Phillip Shadduck who recently served as a Conference Program Director at the Asian-American Multispecialty Summit VI: Laparoscopy and Minimally Invasive Surgery in Honolulu, Hawaii. This Summit, held every two years, with delegations of leading laparoscopists representing organizations and countries in the Pacific Rim, Asian Oceanic regions and the Americas provides meaningful educational and cultural exchange with thought leaders in minimally invasive surgery. Dr. Shadduck acted as moderator for three topics on Multispecialty as well as General Surgery Sessions. Dr. Shadduck also instructed a laparoscopic suturing course for residents at the University of Hawaii.

    Dr. Gilbert is being honored with a Vitals Compassionate Doctor Award. This award is part of the Vitals.com Awards & Recognition Program, where patients rate and review their doctors. In fact, of the nation's 870,000 active physicians, only 3% will be accorded this honor this year.

    For the fourth year in a row, Dr. Aldridge has been listed in the NC Business Journal as a Best Doctors doctor. Each year, Boston-based Best Doctors, Inc. lists the states top doctors by specialty. Dr. Aldridge was one of only a few hand surgeons recognized. Congratulations Dr. Aldridge!

  • Adam Hall, MD Published in The Journal of Bone & Joint Surgery

    TOA would like to recognize Adam Hall, MD whose article "Advances in Acetabular Reconstruction in Revision Total Hip Arthroplasty: Maximizing Function and Outcomes After Treatment of Periacetabular Osteolysis Around the Well-Fixed Shell" was published in The Journal of Bone & Joint Surgery. The article was featured in the Sept 18 issue of The Journal of Bone & Joint Surgery, Volume 95, Issue 18. JBJS subscribers can read the web version here.

  • 2nd Annual TOA Workers’ Compensation Educational Symposium

    The Orthopaedic Surgeons of TOA invite you to a free Continuing Education Program on contemporary Workers’ Compensation topics Tuesday, Dec 3, 2013 from 12-5 at the Archie K.   • Congratulations to Dr. Kushner!

    The Intersocietal Accreditation Commision (IAC) has recognized TOA physician Michael Kushner, MD as a member of the IAC MRI Board of Directors representing the American Academy of Neurology (AAN). Dr. Kushner joins 17 Board members representing national medical societies whose members are involved in the performance and/or interpretation of MRI.

  • Wilson Ortho now a Division of Triangle Orthopaedics

    We are pleased to announce the partnership of Wilson Orthopaedic Surgery and Neurology Center with Triangle Orthopaedic Associates, P.A. This collaboration will bring a greater access of specialists to the residents of Wilson, Rocky Mount and surrounding communities. Our Wilson location offers Comprehensive Orthopaedics, Neurology, Physical Therapy, and the Region's only Open MRI.

  • Congratulations to Dr. Phillip Shadduck!

    Dr. Phillip Shadduck co-wrote an article that was published by the American College of Surgeons. The article, "Inguinal Hernia: Minimally Invasive, Open, Preperitoneal Repair", was co-written by Dr. Shadduck and Dr. Robert Kugel, the innovator of the technique. Their article was published in the Hernia Surgery Volume of the ACS Multimedia Atlas of Surgery.

  • New location in Erwin, NC

    On March 11, 2013 Triangle Orthopaedics opened the doors to its new office in Erwin, NC. The facility will offer multiple service, including orthopaedic consultations, x-ray imaging and physical therapy.   • TOSC Welcomes First Patients

    TOSC opened in February 2013 as the Triangle's first ambulatory surgery center to specialize in musculoskeletal procedures. Months of preparation have gone into the opening of the 10,000 square foot facility. So far, patients have been impressed with the quality care and accommodations.   • Dr. Kathryn Baerman Elected into The American Society of Breast Surgeons

    Congratulations to Dr. Baerman, Surgery Specialist of Triangle Orthopaedic Associates, P.A. for her recent appointment as a member of The American Society of Breast Surgeons. ASBS leads the nation as an advocacy organization for general surgeons who treat patients with breast disease. The society formed in 1995 and today, it has more than 3,000 members worldwide. Dr. Baerman currently participates in a fellowship program centered on breast disease treatment and surgery. She seeks to deliver excellent, individualized care, while accommodating each patient’s needs in a pleasant environment.

  • The McKenzie Institute: two courses to be hosted by Triangle Orthopaedics

    Triangle Orthopaedic Associates, P.A. will co-sponsor courses by The McKenzie Institute. The first of two courses in 2013 will be held on June 21-23, 2013 and is focused on “Mechanical Diagnosis & Therapy of the Lumbar Spine.” The second course, “Mechanical Diagnosis & Therapy of the Cervical and Thoracic Spine,” will be held on November 1-3. Both of these courses will be held at the AIHF location in North Raleigh. The McKenzie Institute is a prestigious institute for Physical Therapists, PTA’s and ATC’s.   • Triangle Orthopaedics opens 6th Orthopaedic Urgent Care

    A new OUCH Center, or Orthopaedic Urgent Care Health Center, is now operating at the Southpoint location. As a great alternative to emergency room visits, the center accepts walk-ins and patients are usually seen within an hour of arrival. The OUCH center strives to improve accessibility to care and responsiveness to patients’ emergent orthopaedic needs.

  • New TOA Satellite Offices Opening Soon

    Triangle Orthopaedics will open a new satellite location in Dunn, NC beginning December 3, 2012. The office will operate through Spring 2013, at which point it will relocate to Erwin, NC. The state-of-the-art office in Erwin will be a permanent TOA location, and the address will be 133 Professional Drive, Erwin, NC 28339. Click here to view a flyer.     Dr. Marshall Kuremsky co-wrote an article, which was published in The Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery, Vol. 94-A No. 21.     Dr. William Silver of Triangle Orthopaedics participated in a clinical trial which sought to evaluate two intra-articular treatments for osteoarthritis. Results of the trial were reported in OARSI: Osteoarthritis Research Society International.
