Dr. Alexia H. Soria is a board-certified, fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in the hand, wrist, and elbow. As a member of the EmergeOrtho—Triangle Region Hand and Wrist Team, Dr. Soria’s advanced training and clinical interests allow her to address a wide variety of conditions and injuries. Education and Expertise

Dr. Soria earned her undergraduate degree from Duke University. After college, she worked for two years in basic science orthopedic research at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City. Her research specialized in bone biology and the biology of fracture healing.

Dr. Soria received her medical degree from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia before being accepted into the #1 ranked Orthopedic Residency at The Hospital for Special Surgery. While in residency, Dr. Soria had the opportunity to study and work with some of the most celebrated orthopedic surgeons in the world. She also authored six peer-reviewed articles, presented at 17 conferences, won six research awards, and received additional training at Institute Kaplan in Barcelona with Dr. Marc Garcia Elias.

She completed her training with a hand, microvascular, and upper extremity fellowship at Duke University. She is a candidate member of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand and American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons. Dr. Soria is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery (Board Certified).

Her extensive education and experience has encouraged Dr. Soria’s special interests in orthopedic issues affecting the hand and wrist and upper extremities. As part of her expertise, Dr. Soria frequently addresses the following conditions and injuries:

Dr. Soria utilizes a multidisciplinary approach to address the injuries and conditions listed above, which includes the following treatment methods and surgical procedures:
