A lumbar facet is like a hinge between two vertebrae. These facet joints can become damaged or worn over time and make the spine unstable. A percutaneous lumbar facet screw instrumentation is a procedure in which special screws are inserted into the facet joints to keep them in place, stabilizing the spine. Facet screws are often inserted through small skin punctures which can reduce the amount of post-operative pain and speed recovery compared to open surgery.

This surgery uses advanced technology for a minimally invasive procedure that gets the job done. If you would like to learn more about this procedure and if it may be the right treatment for you, please contact Triangle Orthopaedics for more information.
