Patients who have torn a ligament in their elbow that causes chronic elbow instability may need a reconstructed ligament to get pain relief and improve function of the loose elbow joint. For ligament reconstruction, the surgeon can replace the damaged ligament with another ligament or tendon as a graft from another area in the patient's body. The graft could also come from a donor. Once the ligament is replaced and sutured, the incision is closed. Rehabilitation will be crucial for the elbow to heal safely so the patient can regain strength and return to normal activities using the elbow.

Whatever the individual condition, our team at Triangle Orthopaedics can provide treatment to restore functionality in your elbow. Contact our office to learn more about ligament reconstruction surgery.
