Dr. Gilbert is a graduate of the University of Illinois and Duke University School of Medicine. He completed his Orthopaedic Surgery residency at Duke University Medical Center, and furthered his training with an Adult Joint Reconstruction Fellowship at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago.
Dr. Gilbert has a broad range of knowledge in general orthopaedics, and has special expertise in minimally invasive hip and knee surgery, partial knee replacements, hip resurfacing, revision hip and knee replacements, computer assisted surgery, gender specific joint replacements, and the use of alternative bearings for joint replacements. Dr. Gilbert is also certified to perform procedures using the MAKOplasty robotically assisted partial knee replacement system.
Dr. Gilbert practices at Rex Hospital and North Carolina Specialty Hospital.
He lives in Raleigh with his wife and two daughters.
