Carl J. Basamania, MD

Biography:

Dr. Basamania’s specialty is shoulder surgery.  He trained in a military residency and was the former chief of orthopaedics at Womack Army Medical Center at Fort Bragg.  He did his shoulder fellowship with Dr. Charles Rockwood in San Antonio, and later joined the orthopaedic division at Duke University Medical Center, where he was director of the shoulder reconstruction service.  He has been a member of the American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons (ASES) since 1997, and will be one of two Triangle Orthopaedic shoulder surgeons in that elite society, the only two such surgeons in the Triangle area.  Dr. Basamania does all types of shoulder surgery, but focuses especially on shoulder arthroplasty, and trauma to the shoulder.  Dr. Basamania will see patients primarily at our Southpoint office.
