Ralph A. Liebelt, M.D.

Biography:

Dr. Liebelt is a graduate of Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine and was an Aufranc Fellow in Adult Reconstructive Surgery at the New England Baptist Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts. He completed his residency in orthopaedics at Duke University Medical Center.

Dr. Liebelt is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons, the North Carolina Orthopaedic, Southern Orthopaedic, and Eastern Orthopaedic Associations.

Dr. Liebelt has an extensive range of experience and education in all types of orthopaedic prob­lems with particular interests in primary and revision total joint replacement surgery, bone and cartilage grafting. Dr. Liebelt practices minimally invasive surgery for the hip and knee, hip resurfacing, use of navigation/computer assisted surgery with alternate bearing surfaces for Total Joint Replacement, joint preserving surgery of the hip and knee, unicompartmental replacement for the knee, reconstructive surgery of the spine including artificial disc surgery and new technologies for fusion/decompression. Dr. Liebelt also performs Kyphoplasty and minimally invasive surgery for the spine. Dr. Liebelt has also conducted training for other surgeons in many of the above areas.

Dr. Liebelt practices at North Carolina Specialty Hospital, Durham Regional Hospital, James E. Davis Surgery Center, Granville Medical Center, Person Memorial Hospital, Durham Veterans' Administration Medical Center, Franklin Regional Medical Center, and Lincoln Community Health Center.
