Biography:

Don McCauley is a graduate of Elon College, Elon College, NC. He graduated from the Surgical Physician Assistant Program at the University of Alabama at Birmingham where he concentrated his clinical studies in general surgery, orthopaedics and rheumatology. Don received his Masters in Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Nebraska and is licensed by the North Carolina Medical Board.

He is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants with additional certification in surgery, and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and is a member of the North Carolina Academy of Physician Assistants.

Don practices primarily in Roxboro and Person County Hospital under the supervision of Dr. Peter Gilmer. He also has privileges at Durham Regional Hospital, North Carolina Specialty Hospital, and James E. Davis Surgery Center. He plays an active role in surgical assisting and patient care for the hospitalized patient. He also is an active member of the United States Air Force Reserve, practicing as an aerospace medicine physician assistant at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base in Goldsboro, North Carolina.
