Sports Medicine Outreach

What is Sports Medicine?

A sports medicine specialist is an individual with specialized education and training, whose primary focus is on individuals with musculoskeletal injury or pain and need medical and/or therapeutic intervention in order to return or continue sports participation and physical activity. This title of sports medicine specialist does not necessarily mean the specialist is a physician. Triangle Orthopaedics has physicians that are fellowship trained in sports medicine to cater to this particular population. Our physicians are just one piece to the sports medicine team at Triangle Orthopaedics.

Due to an increasing emphasis on athletics in the Triangle and surrounding counties, Triangle Orthopaedics has developed a specific outreach to these athletes. Triangle Orthopaedics is continually working to develop a sports medicine team that incorporates, sports medicine physicians, athletic trainers, physical therapists/occupational therapists, and many other healthcare professionals, to care for the physically active. Whether the athlete participates in high school athletics, club sports, or is a weekend warrior; we serve the communities where we practice and where you live.
