Stephen N. Lang, M.D.

Dr. Lang graduated from the University of Illinois Medical School followed by an internship at Cook County Hospital in Chicago. His Orthopaedic training was fulfilled at Duke University Medical Center. After a brief period of Orthopaedic practice in Illinois, he returned to Durham, NC and joined Dr. Glasson and Dr. Kapoor in practice which eventually developed into Triangle Orthopaedic Associates, P.A. In 1986, Dr. Lang joined the faculty at Duke University Medical Center as a member of the Division of Orthopaedic Surgery with his activity directed toward outpatient evaluation and treatment. After his retirement from Duke in 2007, he joined the Department of Orthopaedics at The Universtiy of North Carolina working in the “Orthopaedic Prompt Care Clinic” assessing and treating musculoskeletal problems on an outpatient basis.

          Dr. Lang is certified by The American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and is a member of The American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. His membership in other specialty organizations includes The North Carolina Orthopaedic Association, The Eastern Orthopaedic Association, and The Piedmont Orthopedic Society. He is a member of The American Medical Association, The North Carolina Medical Society, and The Durham-Orange County Medical Society. He has served The North Carolina Orthopaedic Association and the Durham-Orange County Medical Society as President and has been active on several NCMS committees. Dr. Lang presently serves as a member of The Board of Councilors for The American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons as one of two representatives from the state of NC. While at Duke University Medical Center, he received The Leonard Tow Humanism in Medicine Award.
