Shepherd F. Rosenblum, M.D.

Biography:

Dr. Rosenblum has been in practice since 1995, and is board certified by The American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons. His area of specialization is in Orthopaedic Surgery and Sports Medicine. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the North Carolina Orthopaedic Association, and the North Carolina Medical Society.

Dr. Rosenblum received his medical degree and completed his surgical internship at the New York University School of Medicine. He attended the Hospital for Joint Diseases-Orthopaedic Institute in New York City for both his residency training and for a fellowship in Bioengineering. While a resident, he won the prestigious AOA-Zimmer Travel Award for Orthopaedic Residents, a national award for excellence in orthopaedic research. Dr. Rosenblum then went on to complete a fellowship in Sports Medicine at Temple University in Philadelphia.

Sports Medicine is one of Dr. Rosenblum’s areas of expertise. He has worked with athletes at all levels, including high school, division one and two collegiate, and professional. Dr. Rosenblum has been an assistant team physician at Temple University, the US Open Tennis Tournament, as well as several major professional dance companies in New York City. In his practice, he has continued to play an active role with sports teams as the senior team physician for North Carolina Wesleyan College, the Carolina Stallions football team, and several local high schools. Dr. Rosenblum also performs joint replacement surgery, fracture care, and general orthopaedics.

Dr. Rosenblum lives in Raleigh with his wife and two sons.
