Biography:
Dr. Phillips provides psychological and behavioral medicine services to persons with chronic pain, orthopaedic injuries, and chronic medical problems. He also excels in the treatment of stress-related illnesses, work injuries, traumatic injuries, and in habit management, such as smoking cessation and weight loss. Treatment is offered individually, in families, or in small groups. Specific therapies include: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Hypnosis, Biofeedback, and mediation training. Dr. Phillips also conducts psychological assessments for spine surgeries and complex interventional pain procedures. For our corporate clients, Dr. Phillips provides IME's, psychological fitness for duty evaluations, and consultation/training in stress management and communication.
Dr. Phillips completed his undergraduate work at Southwest Missouri State University, and took his doctorate from the University of Missouri. He is a member of the American Psychological Association, the Society of Behavioral Medicine, and the American Pain Society. He has co-authored several articles regarding the investigation and treatment of chronic pain.
