Arthroscopic Labral Repairs

A labrum is a cushion of cartilage found in the hip and shoulder joints that provide stability. A labral tear is often caused by overuse of the joint or by injury. A labral tear can cause pain, stiffness, popping or clicking and weakness in the joint. Arthroscopic labral repair surgery is performed to repair the tear and stabilize the shoulder joint with suture anchors. Tiny incisions are made over the joint to insert the arthroscope and special instruments for the surgeon to see the tear and perform surgery.

Physical therapy exercises will help the shoulder or hip joint restore its movement.
